A 91大黄鸭 woman crashed her truck into a semi tractor trailer Sunday night in an incident that Mounties allege involved alcohol.
RCMP responded to a report of a collision between a pickup truck and a semi-tractor trailer unit Dec. 11 at 10:43 p.m., in the intersection of Harvey Avenue and Water Street.
"Police have determined that the driver of a blue Ford F-250 pickup truck, turning northbound onto Pandosy Street from Harvey Avenue, turned directly in front of the semi-tractor trailer unit which had been proceeding westbound on Harvey Avenue through the intersection on a green light," said Cpl. Jesse O'Donaghey, in a press release.
"The attending officer identified the driver. During the officer鈥檚 interaction with the driver he detected possible signs of alcohol intoxication. Subsequently the investigator provided the driver with a demand who then provided samples of her breath roadside, both of which resulted in a fail."
The driver, a 36-year-old 91大黄鸭 woman, was issued prohibitions and penalties under the Motor Vehicle Act. Her vehicle was towed from the crash scene for impoundment.
鈥淚t鈥檚 fortunate that neither driver was injured in this crash,鈥 said O鈥橠onaghey. 鈥淩CMP recommend that the public make prior arrangements for a designated driver, to take public transit, or take a cab home, as police CounterAttack Road Checks will be all throughout the Central Okanagan this holiday season.鈥
