UPDATE: Vernon RCMP investigating stolen truck fire

Vehicle found fully engulfed at 4:30 a.m. Thursday, May 9

鈥婣n early morning vehicle fire investigation has been turned over to the Vernon North Okanagan RCMP.

The Coldstream Fire Department responded to a call at 4:25 a.m. Thursday, May 9, about a fully engulfed vehicle fire on Clerke Road.

The vehicle, a Ford F-250 pick-up truck, had been abandoned.

Eleven firefighters from the Coldstream department extinguished the blaze, then turned the matter over to police, who determined the vehicle had been stolen.

鈥淭he vehicle was completely destroyed, and was found to have been stolen from a business in Vernon sometime during the night,鈥 said Vernon North Okanagan RCMP media relations officer Const. Chris Terleski.

鈥淣o arrests have been made, and the incident remains under investigation.鈥
