Vernon parents, Shuswap RCMP concerned for missing man

Jayce McDermid, 47, was last heard from by his folks on Nov. 24

Vernon parents are sharing their concerns over their missing son.

Andy and Kath Raeber have posted to social media asking for help in finding their son, Jayce McDermid, who hasn鈥檛 been heard from in more than six weeks which, they say, is out of character.

鈥淲e ask our friends, family and the public to keep an eye out and please share on your multi-media feeds,鈥 wrote Andy.

McDermid, 47, was last seen in Vernon on Sunday, Nov. 24. in the Raeber鈥檚 Royal Expedition motorhome named Lady May, which is written on the rear driver鈥檚 side.

McDermid has ties to Chase, in the Shuswap, and Chase RCMP issued a missing person鈥檚 release on Jan. 1.

Const. Sarah Van Wilgenburg said McDermid has been reported missing by family members who are concerned about his well-being.

鈥淭he length of time he鈥檚 been out of touch is concerning,鈥 said Van Wilgenburg.

McDermid is described as five-foot-10 and 200 pounds.

Police have asked anyone with information about his whereabouts to call the Chase RCMP Detachment at 250-679-3221, or his father, Andy, at 250-309-3007 or his mom, Kath, at 250-938-2231.
