91大黄鸭鈥檚 mayor is encouraging continued support of local businesses in light of a noticeable lull in tourism.

On the City of 91大黄鸭鈥檚 YouTube channel, Mayor Colin Basran said that local flood news washing over Canada has prompted many to cancel their trips to the region, putting a serious damper on the profit margins on local businesses.

鈥淲e encourage people to still come and visit us because this is still an incredible time of year to visit,鈥� he said, in the video clip.

Basran also said that it鈥檚 time for area residents to show their support and start shopping, locally.

鈥淲e know people have cancelled their trips here, to our community, as a result of the coverage that we鈥檝e received right across the country, in regards to the flooding,鈥� he said.

鈥淪o it鈥檚 now, more than ever, vitally important that we, as residents shop local, support our local businesses.鈥�
