West 91大黄鸭 has started an alternative approval process for the city's proposed civic centre.
From March 23rd through May 3rd, West 91大黄鸭 residents will have the opportunity to voice their opposition to the borrowing of up to $10.5 million for the construction of a new city hall, which would be part of the larger West 91大黄鸭 Civic Centre project. To oppose the project, residents need to fill out a form, which is available at the West 91大黄鸭 municipal hall, located at 2760 Cameron Road.
To take the loan to a referendum, 10 percent of eligible West 91大黄鸭 voters, or 2,603 people, would need to submit their form of opposition by the 4 p.m. deadline on May 3. If fewer than 2,603 forms are submitted, the borrowing of funds will be considered approved.
More information on the project will be available at an open house on Wednesday, April 6 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Westbank Lions Hall. West 91大黄鸭 council will be at the open house, where a presentation will be given before a question and answer period.
The proposed hall would be located at 3641 Elliot Road, and would have 32,215 square feet spread over three stories.
