Cove Resort staff in West 91大黄鸭 worked quickly to evacuate guests from the hotel on Sunday after smoke was seen coming from the third floor.

Fire crews arrived on scene and encountered heavy black smoke on the third floor. They were able to access the impacted unit where they found smouldering kitchen fire

According to assistant fire chief Brent Watson Cove maintenance staff had hit the fire with an extinguisher several minutes prior to firefighters arriving which kept the fire in check.

鈥淔irefighters used a thermal imaging camera to look for fire extension into the walls and ceiling space, but none was found,鈥� stated Watson.

Several positive pressure fans were needed to remove the heavy smoke from the third and fourth floors.

A small fire forced the evacuation of the Cove Lakeside Resort on Sunday in West 91大黄鸭.

Witnesses say there was no visible smoke, as West 91大黄鸭 Fire Rescue responded to a call with trucks and firefighters over the noon hour.

The fire, which was contained to one room, was quickly extinguished.
