RCMP have now handed over the investigation, into the sudden death of 29-year-old Jordyn Kitchener, to the BC Coroners Service.

鈥淧olice no longer suspect criminality was involved in the death of Ms. Jordyn Kitchener,鈥 said Cpl. Jesse O鈥橠onaghey. 鈥淕eneral Investigation Section investigators of the West 91大黄鸭 RCMP Detachment will continue to support the BC Coroners Service who have now taken lead on the investigation into her sudden death.鈥

The RCMP and Coroners Service have no further information available for release at this time.

Cpl. Meghan Foster, West 91大黄鸭 RCMP gave a statement Friday at the West 91大黄鸭 RCMP detachment regarding the death of a Vernon woman.

The risk to the public is unknown, said Foster.

鈥淩ight now we don鈥檛 know what we鈥檙e dealing with鈥 right now we don鈥檛 even know this is a homicide,鈥 she said. 鈥淭his is a suspicious death and we鈥檙e investigating it as such.鈥

Kitchener does not have a criminal record and is the mother of two children.

West 91大黄鸭 RCMP is asking for witnesses to come forward regarding a suspicious death of a Vernon woman.

On June 29, just after 7 a.m. the West 91大黄鸭 RCMP responded to call of a sudden death in the 1300 block of Ponderosa Road in West 91大黄鸭. When police attended a nearby residence, they located a deceased woman whose death appeared suspicious. As a result, the West 91大黄鸭 RCMP General Investigation Section was called to investigate, said an RCMP news release.

The woman has been identified as 29-year-old, Jordyn Kitchener from Vernon. Kitchener鈥檚 name has been released to further the police investigation. The West 91大黄鸭 RCMP are working with the BC Coroners Service to determine what led up to Kitchener鈥檚 death, the release said.

The investigation is in its early stages, and an autopsy is required to determine a cause of death for Kitchener. Until more details and facts surrounding Miss Kitchener鈥檚 death are determined the risk to the public remain unknown.

Cpl. Meghan Foster of the West 91大黄鸭 RCMP said 鈥淜itchener was last seen at her home in Vernon at 7 p.m. on June 28. Investigators are asking anyone who knew her, or saw her after this time to contact police.鈥
