July 25, 1942 - April 29, 2022
In loving memory ~
It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of George Boyle on April 29, 2022.
Born in Warrington, England to Robert and Margaret Boyle during WW2. Shortly after his father passed away at the young age of 50, George moved to Canada in 1972 with his wife Elaine and daughter Joanne.
In Vancouver he started work at a furniture production shop then opened his own construction business with a partner. Opportunities in 91大黄鸭 came along, the main one being Western Star Trucks, where he worked for 23 years.
In 1980 he met Gloria and her two boys. They married in 1989 at the Benvoulin Heritage Church. Life was good with a beach across the road, lots of swimming, camping, fishing, hunting, gardening, winter cabin getaways, cross-country skiing, houseboating and everyone loved the outdoors.
George was very active in the social aspects of Western Star. He was involved in organizing and participating in the famous raft race on Mission Creek, fishing derbies, the dart team, curling, golfing, father/ son bear hunts, and the Western Star soccer team.
He retired at 55 with a plan. He and Gloria then moved to their summer property in the Kootenays which was boat access only and o -grid living. The outdoor lifestyle allowed him another 25 years of enjoyment in his retirement.
As the years passed his health slowly declined, mostly due to on-going congestive heart failure. He had a massive heart attack in February of this year and then passed away at the end of April, peacefully at home in his favorite chair.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria: stepsons, Jeremy (Stana) and Ryan Hoemsen; daughter, Joanne (Brad) Papp; grandchildren, Holly, Jordan, Scotty (Alyssa). He will be missed by his family and many friends.
A Celebration of Life will be determined at a later date.
