Gordon (Gord) Stewart Douglas Tucker born on August 23, 1931 and passed away peacefully on September 27, 2017 at the 91大黄鸭 General Hospital surrounded by his loving family.
Dad was born & raised in 91大黄鸭. Dad met the love of his life Jean, she was sweet 16 and he was 21 when they wed in 1953. They celebrated their 64th Wedding Anniversary on June 20th of this year.
For the past 10 years of dad's life, mom has been by his side constantly, as his nurse, friend, confidant, barber, head coach & cheerleader as well as chauffeur, dietician, cook and too much more to mention.
Dad loved nature & the outdoors and taught all 3 of his daughters to fish. When the grandsons came along he included hunting. On one of his annual hunting trips with his buddies he bagged a Royal Elk.
Gord was an avid gardener sharing his abundant crops with family and friends.
He worked for the City of 91大黄鸭 in the electrical department for 33 years. After retirement he was a volunteer for the Salvation Army ringing the Christmas Bell at the Mission Park Shopping Center for 11 years. He always grew a Santa beard for the occasion.
He played lacrosse as a youth and played baseball with the Willow Inn Willows. He was an avid Toronto Maple Leafs fan, he loved curling in men's and mixed league.
Predeceased by his parents, 91大黄鸭 pioneers, his father Harold Tucker & his mother Edith Tucker, his infant son in 1953 and his infant grandson in 1988, his sister Kay Woodward & honorary son Kim Kulak.
Survived by his loving wife Jeannie, 3 daughters: Barbara Roberts (Mike), granddaughters: Kendall Schuster (Kris), great grandchildren: Adelaide, Daxen, Alina, granddaughter Kaley Kulak, great grandchildren Westlee & Maddison, daughter: Carol Davidson (Larry), granddaughter: Erin Pendergast (Darren), great grandchildren: Grayson & Isla, granddaughter: Lindsey Ashton (Colin), great grandson: Austin, granddaughter Marisa Davidson (Gabriel), daughter: Tracy Padula (Dino), grandsons: Matthew Ficocelli (Leanne) & Ryan Ficocelli (Caitlin), honorary sons Ken Ficocelli & Brian Whittle and many extended family and friends.
In lieu of flowers donations to either the BC Heart & Stroke Foundation or to the BC Cancer Society fund would be appreciated. Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at 1:00 pm at the Salvation Army Community Church.
