October 23, 1929 - May 24, 2021
Born October 23, 1929 in Fort Langley to George & Lydia Goddard, Vera died peacefully on the 24th of May with her loving husband, Alf, and family by her side at Hospice House in 91大黄鸭.
As a young girl, Vera was active in the 4H Club and an accomplished Highland dancer. She loved music and met her husband at a dance in Langley. That was the beginning of a love story that lasted 72 years... they married October 30, 1948 in Murrayville at Sharon United Church. Vera & Alf lived most of their married life in New Westminster, raising two daughters, Diane and Jan.
Family & friends were important to Vera; one of her greatest joys was becoming a Mom and Nana. Not only did she cherish family life, Vera also enjoyed travel, country music & entertaining.
In 1999, Vera & Alf moved to Westbank where they began the next chapter of their life making new friends in Leisure Village while treasuring friendships of old. Her family continued to grow and she became a Great Nana much to her delight.
Vera is predeceased by her brother, George, and sister Marion. She is lovingly remembered and missed by her husband, Alf, daughters Diane and Jan, granddaughters Angela (Dylan), their children, Hugo, Willa, and Lewis, and Teresa (Elliot), and their son Wesley. Vera will also be fondly remembered and missed by many extended family and friends.
The family would like to thank and express their appreciation to Dr. Verster for his dedicated care of many years and the staff at Hospice House for the care and respect that was given to her in the final days of her life.
