To the editor:

Oh dear Canada. Well at least, Oh dear 91大黄鸭 as I am not quite sure how the rest of Canada celebrated the 150th anniversary of our great nation.

No fireworks, no beer tents and no entertainment except for that of Christy Clark and Colin Basran cutting cake, which I am sure most of the public couldn鈥檛 have given two hoots about. Maybe the taxpayers should decide on how to spend our hard earned money on special days like this.

Maybe Christy and Colin should fly over the pond to Europe and learn how celebrations are supposed to work without the fun police. Drop in at any country in Western Europe, and see families out and about being civilized watching live bands and sipping wine. Austria and Germany have festivals almost weekly but not here in Canada. Heaven forbid that on Canada鈥檚 150th year we have too much fun and excitement.

Fireworks delayed for over a month鈥ow sad鈥nd the Westside managed to pull it off. Maybe the thought is, where would the homeless go if the city park is being used too frequently. I am getting more and more frustrated with this city.
