Letter: There comes an end to potable water

Those of you who are intelligent and aware, must ask how [washing hospital laundry] will impact 91大黄鸭's water?

To the editor:

Due to Interior Health Authority laundry contract being privatized and centralized, all laundry will be done at 91大黄鸭 General Hospital.

Beyond all the numerous concerns about trucking contaminated linen, is one dire bottom line: Those of you who are intelligent and aware, must ask how it will impact 91大黄鸭's water?

I have written to 91大黄鸭 Mayor Basran in light of his recent appearance on Global TV stating that ground waters are being taken up before reaching Okanagan Lake and the lake levels are being adversely affected. One wonders if the decision makers did the simple math about how much more water is going to be used for the increased dirty laundry?

It does not take much calculation to recognize the population surge in the area and therefore the greater demands on what should never be taken for granted鈥攑otable water. It is not an infinitely renewable resource.
