The hometown and league-leading Abbotsford Cardinals swept a four-game series from the A鈥檚 over the weekend at Delair Park.

The Cards (9-1) took both ends of Saturday鈥檚 doubleheader with 3-0 and 5-3 victories. The Athletics (5-11) managed just nine hits over the two games.

In Sunday鈥檚 opener, the A鈥檚 took the game to extra innings before losing 4-3. Jackson Borne turned in a solid start, allowing two earned runs and five hits in 7 1/3 innings of work. Jaden Parsons and Adam Sarafinchin each had two hits in the loss.

In the series finale, the Cardinals won 10-3. Alex Wright had two of Okanagan鈥檚 five hits, including his third home run, in the defeat.

Statistically, Jaden Parsons is enjoying a solid spring for the A鈥檚, leading the team in hitting with 19 hits and a .373 average.

Jackson Borne tops the pitching staff with a 2-0 record, 1.88 ERA and 20 strikeouts in 26 innings of work.

The A鈥檚 return home this coming weekend to take on the White Rock Tritons (5-5). Saturday鈥檚 doubleheader at Elks Stadium begins at 2 p.m.
