Cristall returns with new team as 91大黄鸭 Rockets host Spokane Chiefs

Cristall sits second in Rockets franchise scoring but was traded to Spokane ahead of the WHL's trade deadline

A week after being traded, Andrew Cristall will be back in 91大黄鸭 on Wednesday, Jan. 15.

The Rockets welcome Cristall and the Spokane Chiefs to Prospera Place to battle it out for the fourth and final time this season.

Back on Jan. 8, Cristall was traded from 91大黄鸭 to Spokane in exchange for Hayden Paupanekis, two first round selections in 2025 and 2027, a second round pick in 2026, a third round pick in 2025 and a 2026 sixth round selection in the WHL Prospects Draft.

After going pointless in his Spokane debut, Cristall fired off a seven-point night, including a hat-trick in the Chiefs 12-2 win over Spokane in Saturday, Jan. 11. He leads the entire WHL with 67 points this season.

Cristall finished his career with the Rockets sitting second in scoring in franchise history with 340 points (135 goals, 205 assists). He played 219 games for the team averaging 1.55 points per game. He was the Rockets first selection (eighth overall) in the 2020 WHL Prospects Draft.

With Spokane, Cristall reversed his usual 28, wearing number 82.

Meanwhile, Paupanekis instantly made his presence felt in his Rockets debut as he collected two assists in a 6-3 win over Prince George on Friday, Jan. 10.

This season, Spokane has dominated the season series, winning all three games, and allowing 91大黄鸭 just one point. Spokane has outscored 91大黄鸭 17-13 in the three games.

Going into the game, the Chiefs sit third in the Western Conference with a record of 27-14-0-0, while the Rockets sit one point out of a playoff spot (ninth) at 15-19-2-1.

Wednesday night's puck drop is at 7:05 p.m.
