Former Penticton Vees captain thrives with University of Maine

For the first time in more than 10 years, a University of Maine men's hockey defenceman has notched 25 points in a single season.

Putting his name in the NCAA school's record book is Frank Djurasevic, the former captain of the Penticton Vees who played with the BCHL team from 2020 to 2023.

On March 8, in a game against the University of Massachusetts, Djurasevic recorded one assist to become the first Maine blueliner since 2013-14 to hit the 25-point mark.

A native of New Rochelle, N.Y., the 23-year-old was named the 56th captain in Vees franchise history ahead of the 2022-23 BCHL season.

Djurasevicv posted 85 points in parts of three seasons with Penticton, helping the team win back-to-back Fred Page Cup titles in 2022 and 2023.
