Five unanswered goals in the third period led to a tough 10-6 loss for the 91大黄鸭 Chiefs against the Grand Forks Border Bruins on Saturday night (Dec. 7).
The Chiefs started strong, building a 4-1 lead by the end of the first period with goals from Luke Rishaug (11), Matt Fraser (5), Owen Miller (4), and Gairen Bona (3). Miller鈥檚 goal came on a penalty shot. By the end of the second period, Grand Forks had narrowed the score to 6-5. Aiden Morcom (7) and Matt Saretsky (7) scored 91大黄鸭鈥檚 goals in the middle frame.
In the third period, the Bruins dominated, scoring five unanswered goals, including a shorthanded goal and an empty-netter.
Fraser had a standout performance with four points (1G, 3A). Chiefs goaltender Max Fowle played the full game, making 34 saves on 43 shots. The Chiefs went 2-for-4 on the power play.
91大黄鸭 remains in last place in the KIJHL Bill Ohlhausen Division with a 9-11-0-3 record and 21 points. Their next game is Friday (Dec. 13) against the Merritt Centennials on the road.
