The 91大黄鸭 Chiefs suffered a tough 6-4 loss to the Sicamous Eagles on Saturday night (Dec. 21) in Sicamous, extending their losing streak to nine games.
The Chiefs opened the scoring early in the first period with Matt Fraser netting his sixth goal of the season. However, the Eagles quickly turned the tide, scoring two goals in just 39 seconds midway through the frame to take a 2-1 lead.
91大黄鸭 tied the game early in the second period on a goal by Brogan Wood (3). Sicamous answered with three straight goals, widening their lead to 5-2 before Kaiden Sydenham (4) scored with just 36 seconds left in the period, closing the gap to 5-3.
In the third period, the Chiefs struck again five minutes in, as Luke Rishaug (13) scored on the power play, making it 5-4. Despite pushing hard for the equalizer, 91大黄鸭 couldn鈥檛 find the back of the net, and Sicamous sealed the win with a late goal.
The Chiefs also fell to the Eagles 5-2 on Friday (Dec. 20) night at Rutland Arena. The back-to-back losses keep 91大黄鸭 in last place in the KIJHL Bill Ohlhausen Division with a record of 9-16-0-3-0 and 21 points.
91大黄鸭 will look to turn things around in the new year when they face the Revelstoke Grizzlies on Jan. 5 at Rutland Arena.
