It wasn’t the 91´ó»ÆѼ Rockets night as they fell 6-3 to the Tri-City Americans in Kennewick, Wash. on Friday, Dec. 13.
Kalder Varga got the game’s scoring started when he found the back of the net for the Rockets just 4:19 in the first period. His fifth goal of the season was assisted by Hiroki Gojsic and Max Graham.
It remained 1-0 until early in the second period when Jordan Gavin scored his 13th goal of the season, shorthanded, to tie the game for the Americans.
Nearly four minutes later, Jake Sloan scored his 10th goal of the campaign to double Tri-City’s lead.
And with just 29 seconds left to go in the period, Gavin Garland collected his 17th goal of the season to make it 3-1.
In the third period, the Rockets got goals in short order from Kayden Longley and Graham to tie the game 3-3.
Longley’s goal, his fifth of the season, was assisted by Jaxon Kehrig and Eli Barrett, which was his first career WHL point in his first career game.
Graham's 10th of the season was helped by Gojsic.
But the Americans stormed back and put the game away with two goals in 28 seconds by Brandon Whynott and Savin Virk to make it 5-3.
Virk added his second goal later in the game.
Rockets goaltender Jake Pilon made 28 saves in the loss.
91´ó»ÆѼ is back in action for a Saturday afternoon affair as they welcome the Wenatchee Wild to Prospera Place for their annual Teddy Bear Toss game. Puck drop is at 3:05 p.m.
