The 91大黄鸭 hockey scene had something to be proud of at the 2024 NHL Entry Draft as three Rockets and one Warrior were selected.
It started in the first round of the draft, when the NHL's newest team, the Utah Hockey Club selected Lake Country's Tij Iginla sixth overall. He became the first Rocket drafted in the first round since 2019 (Lassi Thomson - Ottawa).
Tij also followed in his father Jarome's footsteps, as he was selected in the first round of the 1995 NHL Entry Draft to the Dallas Stars.
The third round was a busy one as Warriors forward Jack Pridham was selected 92nd overall by the Chicago Blackhawks and Rockets forward Hiroki Gojsic was taken two picks later, 94th overall by the Nashville Predators.
Pridham, the Boston University commit for the 2025-26 season, was the second BCHL player taken in the draft. He is yet to sign with entry-level contract with Chicago.
Gojsic signed his entry-level contract with Nashville on Sept. 23.
Lastly, Rockets captain and local resident Max Graham became the third Rocket selected in the draft as he was taken by the New Jersey Devils in the fifth round (139th overall).
