Sam LeDrew led the way during the West 91大黄鸭 Warriors' fourth annual Peachland night as they went on to beat the Salmon Arm Silverbacks 2-1 on Friday night.
To celebrate their neighbours just south, the Warriors traded in their normal dark red and gold jerseys and wore specialty Peachland Warriors jerseys on Jan. 24.
The game was scoreless until the 15:34 mark of the first period when LeDrew found the back of the net for the 15th time this season to open the scoring. Nathan Drapeau and Jack Sadowski collected the helpers on the goal.
Just 121 seconds later, however, the Silverbacks tied the game when Grant Dillard scored his first goal of the season, assisted by Ryan Philbrick and Easton Walos.
West 91大黄鸭 and Salmon Arm remained deadlocked until the 5:44 mark of the third period when LeDrew scored the eventual game-winning goal, which was his second of the game, 16th of the season. The goal was assisted by Philip Monnich Hagen and Jackson Kyrkostas.
Bor Glavi膷 made 28 saves in the win for the Warriors.
The win was the Warriors' fourth straight and they've leapfrogged to seventh in the Interior Conference with a record of 14-15-5-2. Additionally, the Warriors are now 3-1 all-time on Peachland night.
West 91大黄鸭 is back in action, in their regular jerseys, at Royal LePage Place as they welcome the Sherwood Park Crusaders to town. Puck drop is at 7 p.m.
