For the seventh straight year, the n, in partnership with the team at Scotiabank in 91大黄鸭, has announced a sizable contribution to the team鈥檚 scholarship fund.
The Sun and Scotiabank have pooled their resources to make a $10,000 contribution towards player scholarships.
In September, the Sun hosted its annual Sunfest scholarship fundraiser and sold prize balloons throughout the night.
After selling $5,000 worth of balloons, Scotiabank stepped up with a matching $5,000 donation of its own.
鈥淭he Okanagan Sun are proud to be able to offer our athletes the opportunity to further their studies at 91大黄鸭鈥檚 post-secondary institutions,鈥 said Sun President Les Weiss.
鈥淭his wouldn鈥檛 be possible without the continued contributions from the team at Scotiabank, along with the year-in, year-out support from our fans and community partners.鈥
Since its establishment in 2011, the scholarship fund has helped more than 100 former Sun players continue their education off the football field.
