Owls 6th at B.C. girls finals

The 91´ó»ÆѼ Owls pretty much met expectations with a sixth-place showing at the B.C. high school girls 3A basketball championship.

The 91´ó»ÆѼ Owls pretty much met expectations with a sixth-place showing at the B.C. high school girls 3A basketball championship.

Seeded sixth heading into the 16-team tournament, the Owls posted a 2-2 record over four days at the Langley Events Centre.

KSS reached the 5th/6th place game where they fell 67-42 to the Oak Bay Oaks.

Owls player of game Kennedy Dickie led her team with 11 points and seven rebounds, while Alley Corrado had eight points and seven steals.

In the tournament opener, 91´ó»ÆѼ defeated Carson Graham 58-37. Dez Day led with way with 15 points, while Kennedy Dickie, the player of the game, had 11 points and 10 rebounds.

The Owls then lost to Brookswood 76-56. Player of the game Alley Corrado had 14 points and four steals, while Dickie had 12 and pulled down 15 rebounds.

KSS picked up its second win of the event on Friday, a 71-64 verdict over Argyle.

Dickie had 19 points and nine boards, while Rachel Hare and player of the game Courtney Donaldson each had 13 points.

Following the tournament, Kennedy Dickie received an honourable mention.

The Owls are Maddie Dickie, Madi Martens, Chelsea Espenberg, Kennedy Dickie, Grace DeMug, Rachel Hare, Dez Day, Courtney Donaldson, Alley Corrado, Kasey Patchell, Abby Cullen and Rene Watson

The coaches are Darren Semeniuk, Heather Semeniuk and Sandy Corrado.
