The 91大黄鸭 Rockets have added goaltender Brodan Salmond to their roster for the remainder of the WHL season.

Salmond, 17, has been playing with the Camrose Kodiaks of the AJHL this season where he has posted an 11-6-0-0 record and a 3.02 goals against average in 20 games played as a rookie.

The Rockets made the move as starting netminder Jackson Whistle continues to rehab from injury.

鈥淛ackson hasn鈥檛 come along as fast as we had hoped and we continue to assess his recovery,鈥� said Hamilton. 鈥淭his is an insurance move on our part to bring another goaltender into our organization.鈥�

Michael Herringer has played 12 straight games in goal for 91大黄鸭 since Whistle was first sidelined.

Brady Lenardon, from the 91大黄鸭 junior B Chiefs, has been serving as backup since but hasn't seen any action.

Salmond was a 10th round draft pick of the Rockets in the 2013 WHL Bantam Draft. A 5-foot-11, 180 pound native of Calgary, Salmond joins the Rockets as an affiliate player.

I think he鈥檚 going to come to 91大黄鸭 and push their goaltenders and help them have success.鈥�

Salmond is expected to arrive in 91大黄鸭 on Wednesday.
