One of Canada鈥檚 national sports networks, Sportsnet, will be in 91大黄鸭 on Saturday, Dec. 2 to spotlight mental health awareness, featuring Myles Mattila and the 91大黄鸭 Chiefs.

and is a young leader who is committed to creating positive changes in youth mental health. He advocates for students and youth throughout the community and across the nation.

鈥淭he Chiefs are very proud to be able participate in this initiative to bring more awareness to mental health,鈥� said Chiefs GM Grant Sheridan.

That night, the Chiefs will play host to the North Okanagan Knights, with a 7 p.m. face off.

The feature will be aired across the nation on Jan. 20, 2018 during Scotiabank Hockey Day in Canada, celebrating Canadians who are doing great work in the hockey community and beyond.

鈥淚n order to welcome Sportsnet, create more awareness, and promote our team and 91大黄鸭 on Scotiabank Hockey Day in Canada, the 91大黄鸭 Chiefs would like to invite everyone to come out on December 2 with your families and friends to learn more and support this important cause,鈥� Sheridan added.

The Peacock Sheridan Group is a ticket sponsor for this event and will provide tickets for all minor hockey players, and students from UBCO, Okanagan College and all local schools who pre-register for tickets for the game.

Chiefs home Friday鈥�

The Chiefs (10-8-1-2) will battle the Sicamous Eagles Friday at Rutland Arena, the second meeting in a week between the rivals. Face off is 7 p.m.

91大黄鸭 is coming off a 4-3 loss to the Okanagan Division leading Steam Tuesday in Summerland.

Ethan Grover scored the game winner with 2:45 remaining in the third period. Isaac Dutka had a pair of assists for the Chiefs who outshot the Steam 37-30.

The Chiefs are without their leading scorer, Brett Witala, who was injured in last Friday鈥檚 win over Sicamous. Witala, who had 34 points in 17 games, suffered a broken thumb and could miss several weeks of action.
