Vernon U12B Lightning are on a winning streak as they prepare to play at home Sunday.

The team travelled to West 91大黄鸭 Sunday to play the Westside Ice Busters.

鈥淲yatt Dyck faced 51 shots in the Westside net and Kassidy Peterson faced 11 shots in the 7-2 Vernon win,鈥� said Rosemary Manton. 鈥淜ate Holmes moved up to the forward line for this game and sparkled with three goals and one assist.鈥�

Lucia Manton had two goals from the defence. Kiera Horton played a feisty game scoring once and adding one helper. Claire Penner scored and Cali Fossum and Rory Lang added assists.

Vernon Lightning will be at home to the other Westside team next Sunday at 8:30 a.m. in Kal Tire North.

Vernon Voltage U14B also played West 91大黄鸭 Saturday, claiming an impressive victory.

鈥淚t was a big blowout win against West 91大黄鸭,鈥� said Jay Shaw. 鈥淪hots were 51 for, 11 against!鈥�

Just 15 minutes in, the score was 12-1 and the game went to running time at the referee鈥檚 request.

Both Brianna Visser and Sam Shaw scored four times each, Lauren Cooke sank three goals, Sierra Fernley had two and single scores were made by Alyssa Patterson, Miah Cohen, Allie Petty and Sabrina Kennedy.

The Voltage also conquered Westside Nov. 10, winning 9-1. Cooke had an impressive four goals, two each for Kennedy and Visser and one for Petty.

At the same time, the Lightning team defeated Shuswap Thunder 12 to 5 in Salmon Arm.

Scoring for Vernon were Manton, Theryn Petty, Cali Fossum, Avery Smith, Abby Mahortoff and Kate Holmes. Horton, Rory Lang and Claire Penner all added assists. Kassidy Peterson took the win in net.
