Warriors look for remedy on the road

With October winding down, there is some urgency for the West 91´ó»ÆѼ Warriors to collect some points before the month expires.

This weekend, the defending Fred Page Cup champions hope rubber hitting the road will provide a boost as the team plays three games in three nights against Island Division opponents.

West 91´ó»ÆѼ will be in Nanaimo on Friday night, Cowichan Valley on Saturday, before wrapping up the tour with a Sunday matinee at Alberni Valley against the Bulldogs.

The Warriors' recent slide reached six games (0-5-1) on Saturday night at Royal LePage Place in a 6-3 loss to the first-place Penticton Vees.

The Vees scored three goals in a 44-second span in the opening period for a 3-0 lead, then held off the Warriors who fought back to get as close as 4-3 late in the second period.

Twenty-year-old forward Connor Sodegren led West 91´ó»ÆѼ scoring twice in the loss.

The Warriors next home action is Friday, Nov. 5 against the Trail Smoke Eaters.
