It was a tough weekend for the West 91大黄鸭 Warriors, who suffered two losses against Merritt and Cranbrook.
On Friday night in a back-and-forth game, the Warriors lost the Okanagan Connector battle, losing to the Merritt Centennials 6-4 at the Nicola Valley Memorial Arena.
Johannes L酶kkeberg and Viggo Nordstr枚m each had multi-point efforts while Felix Caron scored his team-leading 10th goal of the season in the loss.
The Warriors returned home to take on the Cranbrook Bucks on Saturday night and went from a high-scoring affair, to a low-scoring one as West 91大黄鸭 fell 2-1 in overtime.
Cranbrook was up 1-0 for the majority of the game after an early first-period goal. It wasn鈥檛 until early in the third period when Nordstr枚m scored his first career BCHL goal to tie the game at one.
It wasn鈥檛 the Warriors鈥� night though as Joseph Blackley scored his first goal of the season for the Bucks in overtime to give Cranbrook the 2-1 win.
Cranbrook goaltender Carter Capton stood on his head, making 43 saves in the win.
With the two losses, the Warriors are now 9-4-2 on the season, good enough for third in the BCHL鈥檚 Interior Conference.
The Warriors are back in action up in Prince George to take on the Spruce Kings this Friday and Saturday (Nov. 10 and 11). Puck drop is at 7 p.m. on Friday and 6 p.m. on Saturday, both at the Kopar Memorial Arena.
