It鈥檚 not your conventional marriage, but for Armstrong newlyweds Don and Stefani Walper, it works.

Married for nearly a year, with a one-year old son, the couple began turning heads after an episode of WE TV show aired. The premise of Extreme Love is explained on the show鈥檚 site as: 鈥渆xtreme love stories of weird and wild relationships, proving there is someone for everyone.鈥�

So what鈥檚 unconventional about this marriage? There鈥檚 a 45 year age gap. She鈥檚 24, he鈥檚 69.

鈥淚 think a lot of people don鈥檛 understand that age gap relationships can be genuine,鈥� said Stefani during an interview featured in the segment. 鈥淭he majority seem to assume that there鈥檚 got to be something else going on. You love somebody because you love them.鈥�

Some scenes were shot at The Green Pub in Vernon, where the couple met while Stefani was working there as a waitress. Don was a customer.

Throughout the episode, the two are captured kissing several times. When asked about the best part of the relationship, Stefani said it was the sex. She said that after Don had proposed, they decided to start trying to get pregnant.

鈥淭hree weeks later, I had a positive test,鈥� said Stefani.

Their son, Lachlan, is Don鈥檚 second child. His first son is, according to Don, roughly 24 鈥� the same age as Stefani.

鈥淪o Don tells me this story,鈥� Stefani said. 鈥淎nd I was like 鈥榳ait what鈥檚 your son鈥檚 name?鈥� And Don repeats it. I was like 鈥榦h my god, I know him.鈥欌��

Turns out, Stefani actually went to school with Don鈥檚 son.

When the video was posted to the popular Facebook page Vernon Rant and Rave, it garnered a lot of attention. This, according to the video, is nothing new. Throughout the video, they address the criticisms and judgment they receive from strangers and passersby.

鈥淧eople insult me more then they insult Don because I鈥檓 the 鈥榞old digger鈥�; I鈥檓 the one with 鈥榙addy issues鈥�; I鈥檓 the one who can鈥檛 support myself and I need a man to save me,鈥� she said.

Don said that he never worries about his age.

鈥淚t鈥檚 just a number,鈥� he said. 鈥淵ou keep living the same anyway. As long as the mind is active, the body will keep following it.鈥�

鈥淚 feel like I have a man,鈥� added Stefani. 鈥淚 have a stable relationship. I have somebody that I can trust.鈥�
