While at a concert, have you ever recorded your favourite song?

In the age of glowing cellphone screens taking the place of cigarette lighters in the crowds, a few Canadian recording artists are speaking out about fans recording concerts on their phones, and where they draw the line.

Country star Dean Brody said he鈥檚 okay with fans doing it, but it can become awkward during more 鈥渋ntimate鈥 settings like at meet-and-greets, or special performances in front of a small audience.

鈥淵ou鈥檒l see somebody kinda watching the whole thing through their phone,鈥 he said, chuckling. 鈥淚 don鈥檛 mind it unless the flash is on so you鈥檙e kinda blinded the entire time.鈥

He added: 鈥淚 don鈥檛 know if you鈥檙e fully able to take in a moment if your recording it.鈥
