Wear your plaid for dad

Canadians raise awareness for prostate cancer with their favourite pattern

Some might say it’s the most Canadian campaign in campaign history.

June 16 is Plaid for Dad day, a national event aimed at raising funds for the Canadian Prostate Association, and awareness for early detection.

For those needing the friendly reminder: that’s two days before Father’s Day.

Plaid for Dad was launched in 2015 as a way to shed light on the estimated one in eight men who are diagnosed with prostate cancer each year.

On Friday, participants can wear their best plaid – along with their colleagues – and post a photo to social media.

For every #plaidfordad hashtag posted until June 18 Sanofi Genzyme will donate $5 to Prostate Cancer Canada, up to $10,000.

This year, 1,000 workplaces are expected to be participating and fundraising through barbecues and company events.
