Supporting local artists has never been easier than visiting Artsolutely.
The 23-day Artisan Market and Fundraiser brings together dozens of area entrepreneurs, sharing their talents in various forms.
The event, which started Dec. 1 and runs until Dec. 23 at the Vernon Community Arts Centre (VCAC) in Polson Park, features more than 40 artists.
As a thank-you to the public, a Community Appreciation Event takes place Saturday, Dec. 16, from noon to 5 p.m. It includes a complementary hot chocolate bar, live music and art demonstrations including Raku firing, wheel thrown pottery, chainsaw carving and live painting. Engaging art activities will also be taking place for youth.
The Winter Carnival Games Igloo and Wicked Waffles Food Truck (their last stop of the year) will also be on site.
There will also be two opportunities to win an Artsolutely Shopping Spree: one adult will win $150 and one youth will win $25.
鈥淭his Community Appreciation Day is our way of giving back to the incredible community that has supported the Arts Council and Arts Centre for decades, and this important fundraiser for the past 18 years,鈥 says Rodney Goodchild, VCAC manager. 鈥淲e extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has championed local artists and made this event a resounding success.鈥
Patricia Doyle, an Artsolutely artisan and long-time VCAC staff member and instructor, has this to say about the event: 鈥淭he Arts Centre is excited to show what the Arts Centre has to offer, not just during Artsolutely, but the rest of the year too! The art demonstrations give insight into the artists鈥 processes as well as the classes offered at the Arts Centre.鈥
