Lake Country fire station food bank campaign comes to a close

All food and money raised is going to the Lake Country Food Bank

The Lake Country Fire Department鈥檚 week-long food bank campaign came to an end on Saturday.

On Dec. 9, the fire station continued to accept food and cash donations with everything going directly to the Lake Country Food Bank.

The week-long campaign started on Sunday, Dec. 3, when firefighters went through the Carr鈥檚 Landing neighbourhood, accepting donations as they went door-to-door.

On Tuesday, fire crews went through Oyama and the entirety of Lake Country collecting more donations through each neighbourhood.

Saturday marked the end of the campaign as many people arrived at Station 71 to drop off more items.

It鈥檚 unknown at this time how much was donated. Black Press has reached out to see how much food and money was raised.
