Businesses across Penticton’s Martin Street will be raising money all November for the local oncology department.

Kicking off with a shave-off event on Nov. 1, the group of businesses organized as Meet Me On Martin will be donating partial proceeds from select items to the Oncology Clinic and South Okanagan Similkameen Medical Foundation.

The shave-off and Last Barber Shop will be doing shaves by donation starting at 7 p.m. at The Hub On Martin. Amuzing Fun Rentals will also be putting on fundraising games during the event.

After shaving clean, those who have signed up are invited to compete for the Best Mo’ Grow through Movember, the Best Mo’, the Best Beard, People’s Choice Mo’ and Heavy Weight Champ for the most funds raised through the month via a Facebook fundraiser for the SOS Medical Foundation.

Five judges will decide the best beards at the final ‘Stash Bash’ on Nov. 30 at Slackwater Brewing.

Local artist Beamer Wigley will be playing live music for the event.

Winners will take home prizes donated by local businesses.

Registration for the shave-off and competition is available online through the Meet Me On Martin Facebook group page, or by showing up in person at The Hub On Martin.
