A heartwarming Christmas initiative has arrived in Enderby.
Santa鈥檚 Workshop is a dedicated group of volunteers coming together every year to create a fun and affordable Christmas shopping experience for kids, seniors, teens and adults. As a non-profit, all money raised goes back to the community.
This year the workshop is located at the Masonic Hall at 507 Mill Ave., in Enderby.
Volunteers are ready to accept donations of gently used and new gift-able items, gift cards or certificates, as well as monetary donations.
The donations can be dropped off at the Masonic Hall this Thursday or Saturday between 9:30 a.m. and 2 p.m. The final day for accepting donations is Nov. 25 as the workshop opens on Dec. 1 with its first kids sale.
鈥淭he workshop is often asked what items it needs to fill the gaps. While the team is thankful for all donated items, every year they run short of gifts for teen boys and men,鈥 workshop elves said.
Shopping opens to kids between the ages of four and 12 Friday, Dec. 1 from 2-6 p.m. and Saturday, Dec. 2 from 10-4.
Seniors can shop Dec. 6 from 9-3 and teens and adults can shop Dec. 9 from 10-4.
Over the past four workshops, the volunteers have assembled gift baskets that have become very popular. These are varied, but each gift basket has a theme, such as bath products, kitchen items, gardening, movie night and many more. The baskets are all created with donated items.
鈥淭he workshop relies on community and business sponsorship to ensure its success. Sponsors鈥 names will adorn the workshop walls and will also appear in a Rivertalk thank-you ad at the end of the workshop.鈥
People can stop by the workshop at any time or contact the team at santasworkshopenderby@gmail.com, on Facebook at , or phone Barb at
