A new fundraising idea in Penticton that coincided with “Movember” has led to almost $2,000 raised for the South Okanagan Similkameen Medical Foundation.

Businesses on Martin Street took part in a “Stash Bash,” teaming up last month to support the $10 million Oncology Clinic.

Each location offered a $1 item on the menu, with funds from those sales going toward the foundation’s clinic.

The Hub hosted a best stash and beard competition with prizes as well at the end of November.

The following individuals and businesses helped raise $1,922 for the cause:

• Kori Iceton - The Hub

• Neil Caumartin - Clancy’s Pub

• Debrah Williams - Pasta Factory

• Liam and Kelsey Peyton – Slackwater Brewing

• Ian Lindsay CEO, SOS Medical Foundation

• Jaime - Cannabis Cottage

• Sonny – Wildflower Distilling and

• Megan - Orolo Restaurant

“The SOS Medical Foundation was honoured to receive this cheque and appreciates the group’s support in bringing cancer care closer to home,” the foundation said in a press release.
