UPDATE: 4:17 p.m.
A suspicious substance was discovered at the ATM in Royal Bank in the 300 block of Highway 33 in Rutland, Tuesday morning.
RCMP were called to the scene at about 11:45 a.m.
The substance was seized by members of the RCMP and 91大黄鸭 Fire Department and taken for testing. According to RCMP, officers believe the substance to be an illegal drug but can not confirm until testing is complete.
An employee of the business was taken to hospital out of an abundance of caution.
The investigation is ongoing and there is no substantial threat to public safety at this time, said police.
The Royal Bank closed its operations for the rest of the day.
An emergency has closed the Royal Bank on Highway 33 in Rutland.
The ATM is still accessible but clients of the bank are being directed to the 1840 Copper Road location.
The incident occurred just after 2 p.m. Tuesday.
There were reports that RCMP and firefighters were on scene at the bank, however, by 3 p.m. emergency crews were gone.
