Public hearing scheduled for new childcare facility in Peachland

Property rezoning needed to make way for a new childcare centre Peachland is the subject of public hearing scheduled for Jan. 14. 

The centre is proposed for property at 5601 Wild Goose Street (formerly 5481 Clements Crescent) behind Peachland Village Centre.

Residents can attend the public hearing at the Peachland Community Centre, 4450 6th Street, or watch a live webcast on the . Copies of the proposed bylaws, council report, and other related material may be reviewed by . The public hearing is Tuesday, Jan. 14 starting at 5 p.m.

Written submissions can be sent to the attention of the District Corporate Officer by 4 p.m. on Monday January 13. Names and address must be included. Submissions may be sent by email to corporateservices@peachland.ca, or can be dropped off at the District Office located at 5806 Beach Avenue. 

The new childcare centre will provide 24 spaces for infants and toddlers, 32 spots for Kindergarten-aged children, and 48 for school-aged kids. The district received $12.2 million from the provincial and federal governments to fund the centre.
