A rapidly growing grass fire on June 11 was quickly doused that’s to the work of the Lake Country firefighters.
The District of Lake Country commended the actions of the 40 firefighters who were called out for a human-caused blaze at Pow and Oceola Roads.
The fire crew had been training at the station when they got the call.
BC Wildfire also responded and estimated the blaze grew to 0.71 hectares.
The fire was officially considered held by 9 p.m. that night.
