Downtown 91大黄鸭 will be turned into a giant street hockey competition Sunday, as Hockey Night in Canada鈥檚 Play On returns.

The four-on-four street hockey tournament festival offers recreational and competitive street hockey tournament divisions for all and claims to 鈥渃elebratesthe game in a wholesome, festive atmosphere that helps kids feel like NHL pros and makes adults feel like kids again.鈥�

Since the program鈥檚 inception in 2003, over two million people have participated in one of the 155 Play On! events held to date.

To accommodate the event, Water Street will be closed to traffic from Sunset Drive to the west parking lot entrance at Prospera Place from 3 p.m. on Friday, May 5 to 9 p.m. on Sunday, May 7. Motorists are asked to use Ellis Street to detour and plan ahead to avoid delays.

The Dolphins parking lot at Waterfront Park will be closed to the public for the duration of the event from 6 a.m. on Friday, May 5 until 10 p.m. on Sunday, May 7.

Access will remain open to the Rotary Centre for the Arts and the Delta parkade. Public parking is available at the Library Plaza parkade located on Ellis Street and the Chapman parkade on Lawrence Avenue.
