Eight years after lifting the Fred Page Cup for the Penticton Vees, Owen Sillinger is set to make his NHL debut.
Sillinger, 27, was listed Thursday as an emergency call-up for the Columbus Blue Jackets, ahead of the club's home game against the Seattle Kraken on Jan. 9.
The Regina, Sask., native played three seasons for the Vees from 2015 to 2018, helping the BCHL team win the Fred Page Cup in 2017.
Sillinger logged more than 40 playoff games with Penticton, and served as the team's captain during the 2017-18 campaign.
The forward went undrafted and has spent parts of the last four seasons with the Cleveland Monsters, the American Hockey League affiliate of Columbus.
His call-up on Thursday was made after the Blue Jackets placed forward Sean Monahan on the injured reserve.
Sillinger's brother, Cole, also plays for the Columbus and has 22 points in 40 games this season.
Puck drop for the Blue Jackets' showdown with the Kraken is at 4 p.m.
