A suspect in the robbery of a Subway sandwich shop in 91大黄鸭 late Saturday night has been arrested.

On July 2, 2016 at 11:30 pm, the 91大黄鸭 RCMP responded to a report of an armed robbery at the Subway in the 500-block of Harvey Avenue.

Police said a man entered the shop, produced a knife and demanded money. The man fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

鈥淢oments later officers attended the scene (and) located a man matching the suspect鈥檚 physical description near the intersection of Harvey Avenue and Richter Street,鈥� said Const. Jesse O鈥橠onaghey of the 91大黄鸭 RCMP.

鈥淭he man was arrested without incident and money, believed to have been taken from the Subway, was found on his person."

In a news realse issued Monday, there was no mention of a weapon found.

A 39-year-old 91大黄鸭 man was held in police custody over the weekend and was to appear in court on Monday.

He faces potential charges of robbery and obstruction of a police officer because he gave a false name.
