The search for a missing man in the South Okanagan has reached more than a month.
Police say they are still looking for David Battilana, 61, who was reported missing on Dec. 7, 2024.
Volunteer-based Penticton and District Search and Rescue (PENSAR) has joined police in the search, Cst. Kelly Brett of the Penticton RCMP confirmed.
Brett says PENSAR crew members were unable to locate Battilana after searching near Isintok Lake, southwest of Summerland.
"Unfortunately there was no luck up that way due to weather conditions," Brett added.
In a post on social media, PENSAR said 10 members responded to the area on skis and snowshoes and searched around 70 acres of "difficult terrain."
Battilana was last seen on Dec. 6, according to police.
Last seen wearing beige pants and a camouflage hoodie, he is described as:
• White male;
• 5 ft 8 in (173 cm);
• 201 lb (91 kg);
• Black hair;
• Blue eyes.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Battilana is asked to call their local police department or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477(TIPS).
