The made its presence felt by winning six medals at the British Columbia and Yukon Sectional Championships last week in Parksville.
The KSC sent 21 skaters to Sectionals, which served as the provincial championships, as well as a qualifying round for national events.
A highlight of the week occurred in the Novice Women鈥檚 division, as local skaters took three of a possible four medals.
Leading the way was Daria Carr, 13, with a personal-best score of 119.30 and the provincial title. The OKM student stormed back from a 3rd place standing after the short program to win the free program, which included four successful triple jumps. Carr is the reigning Canadian Pre-Novice Champion.
91大黄鸭鈥檚 Vienna Harwood finished in third overall with a personal-best score of 116.12. She also captured the event鈥檚 Artistic Award.
Winning the pewter medal (4th) was Mikayla Kramer, in a field of 20 skaters.
At the Junior Women鈥檚 level, 91大黄鸭 had a pair of skaters on the podium.
Emma Bulawka, 14, won the short program, but finished 2nd overall in a close finish. The Aberdeen Hall student won the Artistic Award, and is last season鈥檚 Canadian Novice Women鈥檚 Silver Medalist.
91大黄鸭鈥檚 Olivia Gran finished 3rd overall. Gran, 14 years of age, is also a former national medalist. Both Bulawka and Gran have represented Canada internationally.
At the Juvenile Women鈥檚 level, Ava Sanderson lost a photo finish in the under-14 division. Her score of 28.91 would leave her 0.14 of a point shy of the bronze medal, in fourth overall.
Rounding out medal wins were Haley Sales and Nikolas Wamsteeker won the provincial crown in the Senior Dance event.
