What鈥檚 dubbed the Okanagan鈥檚 鈥渂iggest鈥 home and reno show returned to the Peach City on Saturday, March 9.
The 28th annual Penticton Home and Reno Show is taking place all weekend at the Penticton Trade and Convention Centre, with more than 100 exhibitors in attendance.
Hosted by the Canadian Home Builders鈥 Association (CHBA) South Okanagan, the event features a 鈥渓ittle something for everyone鈥, from gardening vendors to pool and patio designs.
鈥淚t鈥檚 a great venue to meet people and try to help them design what they want,鈥 said Tim Bourassa from Canada Cabinet, who was making its third appearance at the Penticton-based event. 鈥淓veryone is always dreaming of that kitchen they want, so it鈥檚 nice to see so many people here wanting to make it a reality.鈥
Close to 5,000 people are expected to attend the show throughout the weekend, which also includes a pancake breakfast on Sunday from 9:30 to 11:30 a.m., in support of the South Okanagan Women in Need Society (SOWINS).
鈥淭his is the third pancake breakfast we鈥檙e doing and every penny we raise goes back to SOWINS,鈥 said Sarah Taylor, executive director at CHBA. 鈥淚t鈥檚 a great way to get people down before they check out all the vendors.鈥
Taylor added that this weekend鈥檚 show is welcoming both longtime vendors and new ones, too. Among the first-time exhibitors included Aged Barrel Wine Cellars.
鈥淚 think there鈥檚 a lot of people here who maybe don鈥檛 know what they want or what they鈥檙e looking for, so when they explore all that there鈥檚 here, it鈥檚 nice to see,鈥 said Robert Radomski from the Okanagan-based company. 鈥淚 look forward to coming back next year.鈥
Admission to the show is $5. Along with the vendors, people can expect to see prizes and other activities on display.
The event closes on Sunday and runs from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
鈥淚t鈥檚 great to see all the fun prizes and the fun atmosphere here,鈥 added Taylor. 鈥淚t鈥檚 a really lively place and everyone鈥檚 in a great mood and networking.鈥
