Quilts of Valour given to Penticton veterans

A total of 14 hand-stitched quilts were handed out

There was hardly a dry eye in the room when 14 鈥楺uilts of Valour鈥 were handed out to veterans at the Penticton Legion on Thursday, said past president Ron Bannister.

Volunteers across Canada who are with Quilts of Valour make the quilts and then the hand-stitched blankets are delivered to Legions across the country.

鈥淢ay the hugs stitched into these quilts give you comfort, strength and love,鈥 said the Quilts of Valour volunteers.

Two soldiers from Edmonton drove to Penticton to hand deliver the quilts last week.

鈥淚t was a wonderful day,鈥 said Bannister. 鈥淭he quilts were well received by everyone.鈥

Quilts of Valour celebrated its 10 year anniversary in 2019.
