Up to 15 centimetres of snow is currently expected to fall along the Coquihalla Highway from Hope to Merritt on Dec. 26.
Environment Canada issued a snowfall warning for a Pacific frontal system that is hitting the B.C. Interior, with snowfall expected to intensify near noon at the Coquihalla Summit.
The Coquihalla snowshed protocol is also being activated due to the predicted amounts of snow, which means additional road crews will be on the highway.

Drivers are being warned that rapidly accumulating snow will make travel difficult and visibilty may be severely reduced at times.
Environment Canada reminds drivers to travel with caution and be prepared with winter tires and chains.
If travelling, also be aware of maintenance crews and equipment on the highways.
