Quick action from West 91大黄鸭 Fire Rescue (WKFR) contained a structure fire to one room early Friday morning.
Just after midnight on Jan. 10, WKFR received calls about a fire on Paynter Road in Westbank.
Upon arrival, crews found heavy smoke and flame billowing from an upper floor front room window. Because of the quick response, crews were about to extinguish the fire before it spread to other rooms.
The upper floor was vacant at the fire of the blaze. Two tenants in adjacent suites were able to exit the building safely.
No injuries were reported but the tenants were looked at by emergency services.
The cause of the fire is unknown at this time and remains under investigation.
WKFR attended the scene with three engines, a ladder truck, as well as safety and command units.
