The West 91大黄鸭 Warriors started the weekend off on the right foot with a 3-1 win over the Okotoks Oilers on Friday, Jan. 10.
Okotoks opened the scoring at the 14:56 mark of the first period when Kade Duell scored his eighth goal of the season, assisted by Teo Pisani.
Warriors Ian Alonso tied the game a few minutes later with a power play goal, his fourth of the season. The goal was assisted by Jackson Kyrkostas and Jack Sadowski.
After a scoreless second period, the game remained tied until Tyler Grahme played hero for the Warriors, scoring to make it 2-1 with just 2:08 left to go in the game. Ben Miller and Elias Callgren collected helpers on the goal.
Kyrkostas added his seventh goal of the season into the empty net with 46 seconds left to make it 3-1.
Bor Glavi膷 collected the win for the Warriors, making 20 saves.
With the win, West 91大黄鸭 is now 12-15-5-2, sitting seventh in the Interior Conference.
The Warriors will take Saturday off and hit the ice again on Sunday afternoon as they welcome the Blackfalds Bulldogs (3-26-3-0) to Royal LePage Place. Puck drop is at 2:30 p.m.
